i have tried to run a backtest on 1 minute data on kucoin futures , both locally and on the server, and i got back results only for roughly the month of december. Is this something specific only to kucoin or will it happen as well on binance?
Some exchanges like Kucoin only offer limited historical data. Binance offers a lot more than that.

I do minute based 1 year backtests daily. But I think that I’ve heard that there are limitations on free account.

im not on the free account. so it could be a kucoin thing … will give binance a try
There are no limitations on free accounts, it’s all depends on what the exchange allows you to fetch,

Binance is working fine for 1 minute data even back to 2022
That is the real downside of Kucoin, you can only backtest for a short period of time, but also if you look at the live chart on e.g. the 1h you can’t scroll/look back very far (at least, it used to be that way, no idea if that is still the case).
What happens when you back test on paper account? Where does it get data from?
And if KuCoin is limited to 1 month, is it worth connecting to a Binance account for backtesting?
