which is the actual net profit or loss
In general or financial? and what “value Change”, “Open postion PnL”
and also if i set SL is it from my balanance for example i give the bot 2000$ with 10x leverage which will be 20,000$, is the SL % from my "2000$ or the 20k? for example 25% of 2K is 500$ and for 20K its 5,000k
The bot started but didn’t perform any buy/sell grids, it got stuck with the initial buy, which at the end of the backtest was worth -$994 less than when the bot started. So effectively the bot is sitting in unrealized loses.
The Stop Loss in the grid depends on the bot value not on the price of the coin. If you have a $20,000 budget and set a -10% SL, if the bot’s value (realized grid profit + unrealized profit) ever reach -$2,000 it will close it.
thank you for the reply, so the net result is the actual Profit or Loss after the bot is closed including winning and losing positions?, the reason why I’m asking is because I’m testing a week based strategy and it give results with high profits and little loss I was confused if my strategy was actually winning most of the time or I was wrong about reading the results, the results on COMBO bots backtest are really clear but on grid bot it was really confusing for me
Not exactly, the net profit and loss are based on realized profit and loss. The most useful metric in the backtest is the Value change, this is the value in $ of the bot at the end of the backtest period, which includes the realized and the unrealized PnL. When the backtest is finished the bot might still have base (either didn’t sell everything or profited in base) this is the only metric that takes into account everything and is the money you would get if you sold all the base at the end of the backtest period.
