I have 38 existing bots that I can’t add a global variable to. I click one of them to go to bot settings, stop the bot so I can edit it, choose Leave for close options, edit the bot, hit / for a drop down menu for Base order and choose my variable (called OrderSize), do the same thing for Max open deals (where I have another variable called OpenDeals), and do the same thing for DCA Order amount where I also choose OrderSize for a variable, hit save, and hit start and wait for the bot to start. At this point, everything looks good. However, when I go back to the trading bots section and select the same bot again, my settings don’t show the variables I just added, they never got saved.
If I duplicate one of these same old bots as a new bot to a new pair and add the variables again, then it saves and runs fine and you can see the variable when opening the bot a second time. So new bots are not affected, only existing bots.
We have received your bug report regarding the global variable issue with existing bots. Thank you for including the bot URL (<a href="Gainium app" class="onebox" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gainium app). We’ll investigate this issue and provide an update shortly.
Interestingly, I can’t edit the values of the two global variables that I created either. But I have used them in new bots. Do bots have to be stopped to edit the values under the Global Variables section?
I created some new global variables this morning, and then tried to edit the value of them, but they don’t change after saving. Is this a related issue?
Have you confirm changes after editing the vars.
Var value si not changed once you edit the var. You need also to save the changes. So you can edit multiple vars at once.
Oh, duh, I didn’t see that second save step! I can edit global variables and save them OK, even ones I created before. Testing editing existing bots again and I’ll post another update shortly. Thanks!
