Some CEXs (like Bybit’s unified accounts) allow trading any USDT-M perps pairs, with coin as collateral. No need to hold stables. And you can trade any perps contract you want.
I’m wondering if Gainium supports trade execution on any exchange, using coin as collateral.
This is * totally separate and different * from COIN-M perps. Which are typically limited to trading BTC & ETH only.
Thanks
We can only allow what the exchange allows, we don’t control the margin the exchange does. Gainium only sends the order, then it’s up to the exchange to execute it according to their rules. I know isolated margin works out of the box, but adding/subtracting certain collateral in cross it may not work. When using cross, I believe the whole account funds are taken into account.
Testing this now. In cross margin mode, which Bybit requires to use coin as collateral. Trying to take a test trade.
Gainium detects my USD balance in the trade entry widget, no problem! So we’re good right?
But in the trade size field, it shows I have zero balance.
When I try taking the trade anyway, it errors out, ‘not enough assets to take the trade’.
Screenshots attached. Hoping this is resolvable.
Thank you. I reset the connection with a new API key, and see my balance in the trade terminal like before.
But it still shows 0 available margin in the trade size field, and errors out when I try to take a $100 trade.
We added an option to skip balance check. Available margin still will be shown as 0, but you will be able to start a deal if exchange allow it.
