Fixed take profit

I mentioned again , and going to mention now , if we have a fix take profit in % percentage with strategy close , it will help us to take advantage from sudden pumps. What happens in crypto sometimes price goes up quickly and then strategy close it, it eventually comes down and becomes a big loss. @aressanch please consider this suggestion.

What do you mean? There already is take profit Percentage where you set a fix percentage where the deal shall be closed!?

Can we use percentage close with strategy? for example deal reached 14% profit and fixed take profit will close it without waiting for strategy close , I dont know why nobody is getting it

What is the difference between you writing about “deal close” on the one and “strategy close” on the other hand?

If you choose take profit as indicator , it should have an option to have fixed % for take profit so when it is reached that level it should close the deal without waiting for indicator to close that deal, i hope that’s not too complex to understand

So you are mixing two things. The percentage and the indicator based take profit. You want the second to close the deal as the first. That’s not how it is meant to be. If you want a fix take profit take the first. The second offers a minimum take profit but requires an indicator signal to close the deal. What indeed maybe could be added though is, that is the price reverses below the minimum take profit the deal gets closed with a market order. You only cannot be sure at what price this will happen. Maybe a trailing take profit or stop loss is more like what you want? Or do you want a limit order to be placed at the minimum take profit level once it was passed? If the gains continue to increase this order gets and the indicators triggers, that order cancelled and the deal closed by a market order?

Let’s explain it by example

Strategy start a deal when 20 ema crossing up 200 ema and close a deal when 20 ema crossing down 200,

There are some scenarios

1 , if deal closed only on indicator then i get 5% profit

2, the same deal reached 22% above 200 ema profit but was unable to close because there is no set percentage to close it

3, if i set a fixed take profit in percentage lets say 15% so whenever next time deal is reached such profit it will close it without waiting for 20 ema crossing down 200 ema.

4, if that is a limit order that is also well and good, it can open a limit order at 15% and let price go up and wait for indicator to close it , if anyway price comes down limit order gets executed.

I don’t understand why no one is voting for such cool feature.

If you use an indicator based take profit, you can already configure a minimum percentage.

Currently it’s like

  1. Minimum percentage activates conditional take profit
  2. a) Either conditional take profit
    b) Or price reverses under minimum percentage and deactivates the conditional take profit again.

What we maybe want that some kind of stop loss limit order is set instead as soon as the minimum percentage was passed.

Minimum take profit is completely opposite what i propose. Minimum take profit in gainium.io means , deal will not close until it has reached certain % of profit , otherwise it can stay open for days.

Then your explanation possibly wasn’t clear enough. What’s there that cannot be done and why do you want to use an indicator based take profit for that?

I think what he means is that there are two simultaneous ways to close a deal. One would be when the indicators signal it, and the other would be if it reaches a take profit before.

Perhaps this could also be solved with a trailing take profit that activates when the price reaches a certain percentage.

Anyone who have used cryptohopper is well aware with this feature.

Can this be solved by using price change = 14% with interval 1week and keep true = 100 (or whatever big value) on take profit section? Is not super intuitive but could probably work?

So you want to have something like

Indicator based take profit with

minimum <= conditional <= fix

take profit.

As soon as the deal reaches

  • either the conditional
  • or the fix

take profit the deal gets closed. Like that?

I also backtested using price change but did not worked the way it should be

Yes correct

I also was about to come here to suggest this feature. A better way to describe it would be ‘Maximum Profit Percentage’, and yes it would be used with the TA/strategy take profit setting.
So your bot would take profit on a deal if either a) the ta requirements were met, or b) the the maximum profit was reached. It would be useful if that maximum profit could be expressed as either a fixed amount, a fixed deal percentage, or a fixed portfolio perentage. This is especially useful for things like DCA bots, where if you fill all your DCA orders your risk has increased a lot, and so maybe you want to close if it hits a certain profit immediately, even if the ta conditions haven’t been reached.

This is what i tried to explain

Your point is a condition … Fixed %Tp , OR … indicator TP _? , it looks good
