HODL Bot shows wrong current cost after merging deals

Bug info:

  • Bot URL → Gainium app
  • [Optional] Steps to reproduce → two recurrent buys, 1.5$ each, merged both deals into one
  • Expected result → 3$ total cost, 4.5$ is displayed in bot’s overview.

Also, isn’t there a better way for a HODL bot? I don’t really understand why I need to merge deals at all. I’d prefer being able to set up a HODL bot so that it merges the deals itself or just only has one deal per pair in the first place (if it’s multipair).

My ideal scenario: set up a multipair HODL bot, which buys say once a day the pairs that I want and has from the start the number of deals which corresponds to the number of pairs, so that I can see the avg price per pair.

Cheers

We’ve received your bug report regarding the HODL Bot showing the wrong current cost after merging deals. Thank you for providing the bot URL for reference. We will investigate this issue and update you shortly.

Additionally, if you are referring to a specific deal related to this bug, please provide the deal ID for further clarification.

Regarding your suggestion for the HODL bot functionality, we appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration. Thank you for your input!

Maybe it would be helpful to execute time based “DCA orders” but independently of the current deviation. That way a single DCA deal could work as HODL deal without the need to merge deals.

I understand that the deal merging is due to logic reuse but I think we need a separate logic for a HODL bot. Set up the number of pairs, buy size, buy interval and forget about it: one deal per pair with AVG price.

We understand your concern regarding the incorrect total cost displayed after merging deals in the HODL Bot. We have recently made an update to improve the deal merging process, which should help resolve this issue.

As for your suggestion about allowing the HODL bot to automatically merge deals or limiting it to one deal per coin, we appreciate your feedback! We’re always looking for ways to enhance user experience, and your input is valuable as we consider future updates.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy using Gainium!
