Hello everyone,
I’ve been reviewing some strategies and I need to know if there’s any built-in indicator that is equivalent to the slope of a moving average, similar to SLP MA on TradingView. I found that the MAR indicator has a trend filter, but I can’t find the details in the description. I want to use it to filter periods of market lateralization.
After analyzing the MAR indicator from Gainium, I realize that the trend filter does not correspond to the slope of the moving average in question. Upon further research in TradingView, I found a more general, open-source indicator with its description.
That’s why I’m changing the post to a FEATURE REQUEST and also adding the link to the indicator on TradingView along with part of its description. It would be a useful indicator to filter trends. From what I’ve observed, it is more effective than traditional SMA 200, etc. The signal is clearer, and most importantly, it’s useful for determining a range when the moving average is close to zero and the market is lateralizing—this is where false signals tend to occur with most other indicators.
Thanks! PEPE
