Other coins needs to be tested, i want to grab short deals at time when daily candle or the combine ratings is in Sell mode. I also want to use same coins for both strategies to achieve this, this is my goal.
I also have them on my real account, but only with 49% of the total BTC, just to be on the safe side.
I will also try this
Just did a couple of tests with ETH and BNB but they don’t work with the current settings.
The problem with choosing coin just on the basis of the results and not for any particular reason is that you can fall into statistical bias. If this happens, you run the risk of not being able to reproduce the performance in the future because these coins may have shown good results randomly and when you trade them later, you are no longer as lucky. So be careful about making a too big selection without being able to explain why some perform well and others don’t.
Hmm apparently there is quite a difference between Binance and Bybit in that area, on Binance there is 1 hefty loss-making deal between them that does not occur on Bybit.
If you want to run this bot on Binance, you could play around with the settings to see if you can make it run better.
Maybe the Binance api / backtest gives more detailed data, as it also goes further back in historical data. Don’t know for sure bit I’ve also noticed different backtest results between Binance/ByBit/Kucoin and I tend to beleive the Binance test most.
(Mostly my personal feeling and not for sure)
I also see differences between exchanges in terms of volume, and that sometimes affects the indicators quite a bit.
Hey @Perez will you edit or recreate your backtests links again as these links does not work anymore. I want to do backtests on your settings
yes this is what i thought as well
Will try to do it I have yo say that these strategies where working less well in reality than in backtest but with some fine tunes they could get better
my short strategy is working fine on real account, 14 trades in profit and one SL, SL was too big but still there is less than 1% drawdown, lets see , I will update you on that one in future
Does the backtest for the same period have a different return? Tip: on bot page click on 3 dots menu at the end of the settings and then backtest and it will automatically backtest from bot start date till now.
Yes it’s what is happening almost all the time, there are a lot of trades in profit and then one big loss the reason that makes me say that we are not far from an excellent strategy is that after the big loss, the bot stops because the side of the trend has changed and the not has detect it, but there is some lag on the trend indicator that makes the bot opening this last bad trade. If we could have an indication earlier on this trend changing, it could be very nice for the strat, but I think that this is something almost impossible to have as you are trying to predict the future and the indicators are based on past candles:crystal_ball:
Have to check it, will do it tomorrow as I am.not on my laptop now. Thanks for the suggestion
Hello @salmanhamza,
Here you have the links of the bots, I will update the initial posts if I can because at that moment I don’t have the rights
-
Super trend x BB%B (No DCA): Super Trend X BB%B (no DCA)
-
Super trend x BB%B (DCA): Super trend x BB%B (DCA)
-
Market structure x BB%B (DCA): Market structure x BB%B
These bots will remain like this, the reason the old ones changed is because I shared the link to the bots on my real account and sometimes I was doing some manual changes. These ones are on paper and I will not change them anymore
Ok so I backtested the same period and the results are quite similar but not the same, I think that there is a good reason for it and that’s because I had some messages of not enough funds for the DCA orders. What it’s weird is that the results on the “Trading bots” page and the bot statistics overview are not exactly the same, do I open a bug ticket?
